Role overview
This project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Saskatchewan Health Authority`s self-management resources in supporting individuals with Long COVID(LC). Specifically, the study seeks to identify which aspects of these resources are most and least effective in improving the mental health of LC patients. Participants will be asked to discuss which resources on the SHA website were most helpful and which were not, sharing their experiences and perspectives.
Required knowledge, experience, skills
The inclusion criteria for this study will be those over 18 who have self-identified as having or having had LC and any mental health symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, changes in mood, or post-traumatic stress as a consequence of LC. Participants must also have access to the internet and reside in Saskatchewan. Additionally, participants should be willing to engage in a recorded focus group discussion for 60 minutes.Time commitment
The survey should take less than 15 minutes. The estimated duration of the focus group meeting is approximately 60 minutes.

What can you expect from the research team?
Participants will be asked first to complete an online survey designed to gather demographic information and your LC symptoms. Next, participants will be invited to participate in a virtual focus group with four other participants, a researcher, and two facilitators. Prior to the focus group, you will be asked to review the SHA website LC mental health resources: Long COVID Self-Management - Managing Stress, Anxiety, and/or Low Mood. The focus group will be conducted via Zoom. Participation is voluntary. They may withdraw from the research project for any reason, without explanation or penalty of any sort. Results of the research will be used for academic publications and reports intended for health system leaders. If participants would like to access a summary of the results once the research is complete, please contact the researcher to request a copy. The findings are estimated to be available in October 2025.
