Access to rural health services improves in Southwest
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is excited to announce the grand opening of the primary health-care (PHC) clinic in Kincaid at its new location. The grand opening not only marks the completion of construction but also a new chapter in health care for Kincaid.
“We are proud to have played a part in making this new health-care facility a reality for Kincaid,” said Cara McDavid, Primary Health Care Director, Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). “It represents a significant investment in the health of this community, and we are excited about the positive impact it will have on residents’ lives.”
The project was funded locally through the generous donations of the community and surrounding rural municipalities. Construction began on April 16, 2023 in response to the growing healthcare needs in Kincaid and the surrounding area. The successful completion of the project was a collaborative effort that involved many partners including the community, surrounding municipalities, clinical staff and local health stakeholders.
“As a local resident and the Health Services Manager for the new clinic, I can attest to the fact that the anticipation around this project has been building for months,” said Jenna Smith, Health Services Manager, SHA. “The community and the health board have put a lot of time and effort into making this dream a reality.”
