Canada Post Strike Information

Canada Post employees have initiated strike action effective, Friday, November 15. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has been involved in operational contingency planning to minimize impact to local operations and ensure continuity of services. 

• Documents normally sent by Canada Post such as appointment notices, public health inspection reports, patient reports, etc. will be provided, as needed, via alternate means such as courier, email, or phone call.

• For those who have not received a health card in the mail before the service disruption began, please connect with eHealth Saskatchewan. eHealth issues Confirmation of Coverage letters via email. This confirmation letter will be accepted in lieu of a health card at all our health facilities across the province.

• Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention and Control teams will assist with delivery options, as needed.

• Patients with Special Access Pharmacy (Saskatoon) prescriptions are encouraged to pick-up prescriptions directly during appointments.
• Lab specimens will continue to be transported using existing courier routes
