Autism Funding Options

Saskatchewan Autism Individualized Funding (ASD-IF)
- Diagnosis Required: Autism diagnosis
- Age Range: Under 12 years old
- Purpose: To purchase services or recommended supports that best suit their child’s individual needs. This gives parents the flexibility to choose from a range of approved, eligible therapies and family supports that will most benefit their child, including respite, equipment or education
- Additional Notes: Resident of Saskatchewan, not ordinarily live on a reserve as defined in the Indian Act (Canada)

Canadian Disability Tax Credit (DTC)
- Diagnosis Required: No specific diagnosis required, however severe and prolonged impairment and/or significant limitations in predefined categories must be identified by a qualified professional
- Age Range: None
- Purpose: Non-refundable tax credit that helps people with disabilities, or their supporting family member, reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay
- Additional Notes: Can apply for DTC at any time during the year

Jordan's Principle
- Diagnosis Required: No
- Age Range: Under 18
- Purpose: Funding covers a wide range of health, social, and educational needs for First Nations children
- Criteria: Registered or eligible to be registered treaty status, has one parent or guardian who is registered or eligible to be registered under the Indian Act , is recognized by their nation for the purposes of Jordan's Principle

Metis Nation Saskatchewan: Amachiwayhaataak (Let’s Soar) Program
- Diagnosis Required: No
- Age Range: 12 and Under
- Purpose: To assist with the cost of a wide range of services, programs and products, including occupational therapy, speech therapy, assessments, specialized equipment, and glasses
- Criteria: Registered Metis citizen
- Additional Information: Metis Nation Saskatchewan: Amachiwayhaataak (Let’s Soar) Program
Cognitive Disability Strategy (CDS) Flexible Funding
- Diagnosis Required: Proof of cognitive disability with limitations and impairments that are present from an early age but formal psychological assessment is not required
- Age Range: None
- Purpose: Unmet need related to a cognitive disability that cannot be met by another service or support
- Criteria: Based on household income and assessed level of support needs

Community Living Service Delivery (CLSD): Family Respite Program
- Diagnosis Required: Yes, global developmental delay or psychologist’s diagnosis of intellectual disability
- Age Range: Under 18
- Purpose: Financial benefit to purchase and pay for respite services
- Criteria: Based on household income and level of support needs
