Box breathing or square breathing is a great way to help return your breathing to its normal pattern. Box breathing can help calm your nervous system and decrease stress in your body.
How to Perform the Box Breathing Method
- Sit in a chair with your back well supported.
- Breathe in through your nose as you count to four.
- Then hold your breath as you count to four.
- Then exhale out slowly as you count to four. **Repeat this pattern**
