Satellite Dialysis Unit
Urban Hemodialysis Units
The Cameco Community Renal Health Centre offers community-based hemodialysis to patients who have been assessed as medically stable and are able to receive dialysis in a less acute environment.
Community-based dialysis is intended to create a patient-friendly community setting that enables dialysis patients to develop greater independence and control over their disease and treatment.
The Wascana Rehab Centre is a long term care facility in Regina that supports community dialysis patients from having to leave the facility to receive hemodialysis care.
For patients unable to do dialysis treatments in their own home, some satellite dialysis units provide an option for hemodialysis that involves less travel. These hemodialysis units are located in various hospitals around the province, and provide treatments to those who meet certain criteria.
