About This Facility
Central Haven Special Care Home is an affiliate of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and is home to 60 elders. We provide Long Term Care in a welcoming and caring home environment that includes opportunities to care for other living things and creates an environment that encourages the variety and spontaneity that makes life worth living.
Central Haven is a registered Eden Alternative® home. The Eden Alternative® is a total philosophy that seeks to eliminate the three plagues of long term care - loneliness, helplessness and boredom.

The Eden Alternative® is a philosophy which seeks to alleviate the three plagues of long-term care – loneliness, helplessness and boredom through the creation of a healthy community, a human habitat, where relationships grow, where there are opportunities to give and receive care and where variety and spontaneity flourish. The ultimate outcome of the Eden Alternative® Philosophy is that all members of the community have opportunity to experience well-being.

Central Haven will support quality of life and growth of each individual and the Central Haven community as a whole. We will strive to provide each resident with companionship, opportunities to give and receive care and a diverse environment rich with spontaneity and variety.
The environment will support the health and well- being of employees. Central Haven will be an organization where staff can make a difference. We will support our staff as individual community members and encourage them to develop their strengths and passions in meeting our mission. Their work will be meaningful and rewarding.
