2025 Spring COVID-19 Immunization Eligibility
Starting March 31 until June 14, 2025, select Saskatchewan residents will have access to an additional dose of an age-appropriate COVID-19 vaccine. The additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is recommended to be given at least two months from the individual’s last COVID-19 vaccine dose. COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to be very effective at preventing severe illness, including hospitalization and death due to COVID-19 and can decrease the risk of Long COVID (also known as post-COVID-19 condition).
The following groups at high-risk of severe COVID-19 illness and outcomes are eligible for this free additional dose:
- Adults 80 years of age and older;
- Adult residents of long-term care facilities, personal care homes and other group living settings for seniors;
- Individuals six months of age and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised due to an underlying condition or treatment; and
- Adults aged 65 to 79 years old who are at increased risk of severe COVID-19 and have been previously vaccinated this year/this fall, may also receive an additional dose.
Until June 14, 2025, those individuals 6 months of age or older who are not yet immunized with a 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine or those who need to complete a primary series, can get immunized.
Note:
Children 6 months to 4 years old may require additional doses depending on their vaccination history.
For individuals who are immunocompromised, the recommended number of doses and intervals depends on their vaccination history.
