Role overview
We are conducting a qualitative study to understand how patient- and family-centered care (PFCC) and family participation during ICU rounds are experienced by patients, their families, and healthcare professionals in the Regina ICU. Participants will be invited to take part in a one-on-one interview to share their experiences with ICU communication and involvement in care planning.
Required knowledge, experience, skills
For Participants: Prior experience as a patient or family member of a patient in the Regina ICU within the past 5 years Family members must have participated in rounds at least once Patients must have stayed in the ICU for a minimum of 48 hours and participated in rounds at least once No research background required Comfort discussing ICU-related experiences in a confidential settingTime commitment
One 30–60 minute interview via Zoom

Supports available to participate
Participation by patients and family members is entirely voluntary. Patients and family members may decline to answer any question or withdraw from the study at any time without affecting their care or services. Mental health resources will be provided should the need arise.
