Cozy Nest Long-Term Care Home Opens
Today, Health Minister Everett Hindley and the Saskatchewan Health Authority announced the opening of the Cozy Nest Care Home.
Cozy Nest Care Home is providing 83 long-term care spaces as part of the Saskatoon Capacity Pressure Action Plan.
“This beautiful new facility will provide a new home for long-term care residents and those patients who no longer need to be in hospital, but cannot yet return home,” Hindley said. “This partnership is a great example of our government’s commitment to safe, quality care.”
The SHA released an Expression of Interest early in 2024 seeking long-term care space and care supports to accommodate patient transitions from hospital to community settings. Cozy Nest was one of the successful proponents.
The SHA will work with Cozy Nest for the admission of patients.
“The Saskatchewan Health Authority strives to ensure that patients are always being cared for in an appropriate setting,” said John Ash, SHA VP, Integrated Saskatoon Health. “The partnership with Cozy Nest Care Home will provide just that. It will also help address pressures in our hospitals by providing options for patients who no longer require acute care but are not yet ready to return home.”
“Cozy Nest Care Home will be a warm and welcoming place for our residents,” said Safal Suryavanshi, General Manager of Cozy Nest Care Home. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Saskatchewan Health Authority to deliver the highest quality care. Our team is eagerly prepared and excited to open our doors.”
With the addition of spaces at Cozy Nest, the number of long-term care spaces in Saskatchewan totals 8,729.
