“Don’t knock it ‘til you try it. You never know if it is right for you unless you give it a shot,” said Ned, a client of EHN Canada’s virtual intensive outpatient addictions treatment program.
Available to Saskatchewan residents 18 years and older, the virtual program includes eight weeks of interactive individual and group therapy and 10-month aftercare sessions to reduce the risk of relapse. Having free access to a virtual treatment doesn’t interfere with work, family, or life commitments, reducing barriers that may prevent people from seeking help.
“If a person had transportation issues, they could still access services, and most people have the internet,” Ned said. “With my family, I was still able to be home and present.”
In addition to psychological, emotional, and educational programming, Ned credits sharing peer recovery experiences, nurse practitioner support, and weekly aftercare with helping him reach seven months alcohol-free.

EHN Canada provides access to 36 free virtual intensive outpatient treatment spaces to Saskatchewan residents struggling with drug or alcohol addictions. The online program is available through an agreement between EHN Canada and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) as part of the Government of Saskatchewan’s commitment to increasing addictions treatment spaces in the province.
