Making waves for maternal care in Yorkton
The Yorkton Obstetrics team of Registered Nurses (RNs) brought the SHA’s CARES values and a splash of excitement to the Exhibition Parade on July 5, 2025. Their float, themed “Sea you on the Maternity Ward,” featured coral reefs, sea creatures, and pirate chests filled with frozen treats for the crowd.
Brochures with a QR code to a virtual tour of the unit were handed out, along with 200 foam phone holders provided in collaboration with the SHA’s First Nations and Métis Health team.
“The parade presented an opportunity to educate community members and engage in team-building activities,” said Janna-Lea, Director, Acute Care, SE Network 4, for the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). “Taking time to inform the community about health services in Yorkton reflects the SHA’s CARES values, as our team ensures compassionate, accountable, respectful, equitable and safe maternal care in the Yorkton area.”
