New Regina General Hospital parkade now open
A new era of parking began yesterday with the opening of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) parkade at Regina General Hospital (RGH).
“This four-level parkade at Regina General Hospital reflects our commitment to improving accessibility for patients and visitors while providing safer, more convenient parking for staff," said Derek Miller, SHA Chief Operating Office.
The parkade features 1,005 parking stalls, including 320 for patients and visitors on the ground level, and 685 secured stalls for staff on the remaining levels. The structure is equipped with enhanced safety features, such as motion-sensor lighting, security cameras, and alarm stations, also known as duress alarm systems. Additionally, pay-per-use electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available.
“We are grateful for the Government of Saskatchewan’s $22.4 million investment for the development of the parkade, as well as Link Developments’ steadfast commitment to swiftly construct this structure, while minimizing disruptions for patients, visitors, and staff,” said Miller. “I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Saskatchewan Health Authority staff for their patience, understanding, and unwavering support throughout the construction process.”
At this time, parking rates at RGH will remain unchanged for patients, visitors and staff.
