Rosthern Hospital Inpatient Unit Closed due to COVID-19 Outbreak
Please be advised the Rosthern Hospital Inpatient Unit is closed to admissions and transfers until further notice following a COVID-19 outbreak.
During this time, emergency department and outpatient services will remain available. To date, there are 10 positive patient cases and two positive staff cases associated with this outbreak. Contact tracing and further testing is already underway.
In order to prevent further spread of COVID-19, visitors to the hospital are now restricted to “end-of-life” situations only. This includes palliative care, hospice care or those who are at high risk for loss of life as determined with the patient, family, and care team. More detailed information about family presence in Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities during COVID-19 can be found at Saskatchewan.ca/covid19.
It is important to note that COVID-19 is everywhere in Saskatchewan. SHA is strongly urging Saskatchewan residents to strictly adhere to all public health order and measures, including:
- Keep 2 metres away from others when in public and wear a mask.
- Limit gatherings and ensure gathering sizes do not exceed public health orders.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose, mouth or mask with unwashed hands.
- Stay home if you are unwell; seek health care services when you help.
- Regularly monitor your health for any COVID-19 symptoms.
In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1. Non-urgent health-related questions should be directed to HealthLine by calling 8-1-1. We thank the community for their understanding and patience during this time.
