SHA to begin operation of primary health care clinic in Kindersley
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is pleased to announce it has begun operating the primary health care clinic in Kindersley, helping to stabilize high-quality primary health care for the residents of Kindersley and the surrounding area.
Effective January 1, 2024, the SHA entered into a one-year lease agreement with the Kindersley Regional Medical Arts Authority to lease a portion of the Kindersley Regional Medical Arts Building. All seven staff employed with the clinic are transitioning to employment with the SHA.
“I’m pleased to see this project come to fruition. Not only does it help improve access to integrated primary health care services in the community, but this innovative solution will also improve efforts to recruit and retain health care staff now and into the future,” said Sharon Forsyth, Director, Primary Health Care, Saskatchewan Health Authority. “SHA operation of the medical clinic will create an environment for robust team-based care that is attractive for physician recruitment and retention.”
Operating the medical clinic in Kindersley will also help the SHA stabilize primary health care services for residents in the service area. Physicians, allied health staff and patients benefit from a team-based approach.
