Role overview
SmokeFreeConnect is a national research study designed to support adults in rural and remote communities across Canada who want to quit smoking. We’re building a virtual hub to provide ongoing, accessible support for people who smoke. This online space will offer information, connection, and encouragement throughout participants’ quit journeys. Alongside the digital hub, we will also identify five rural or remote communities to pilot in-person supports, including free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and other community-driven initiatives As a member of the Community Advisory Committee, you’ll help ensure the study is inclusive, relevant and grounded in real-life experiences. This is a 2-year commitment, with opportunities to stay involved throughout the different stages of the project. Your role may include: -Reviewing and improving participant materials (e.g., flyers, consent forms, surveys, etc.) -Shaping the virtual hub to feel supportive, relatable, and helpful -Ensuring the appropriateness of language, tone, and content that reflect real-world experiences -Recommending tools, features, and topics that would best support people on their quit-smoking journey You don’t need any research background - just your perspective as someone with lived/living experience of smoking and quitting.
