COVID-19 vaccine: Upgrade to the Patient Booking System
The Saskatchewan Health Authority’s (SHA) COVID-19 Vaccine Patient Booking System now has the ability to hold appointments for five minutes, making it easier for patients to book their COVID-19 vaccine appointments, without the risk of the time slot being filled before they are finished.
This upgrade was completed after receiving feedback about the frustrations of some patients, whose selected appointment times were no longer available by the time they finished filling out the necessary details, forcing them to find another appointment time.
This system enhancement, which occurred in the overnight hours of May 3, will help patients to avoid booking the same time slot. Once a desired clinic and time is selected by a patient, they now will have five minutes to complete their demographic information and confirm their appointment. The slot is released after five minutes if the appointment is not confirmed and booked. The patient would then have to select another appointment time if the slot is released.
Since the launch of the Patient Booking System on March 11, 2021, 342,719 COVID-19 vaccine appointments have been booked using this simple, efficient system. Of that, 224, 314 were booked online.
Once eligible, please remember to book your vaccine appointment by visiting saskatchewan.ca/COVID19-vaccine or by calling the Vaccine Call Centre at 1-833-SASK-VAX (1-833-727-5829) to have a booking agent help to schedule your appointment.
