What is Virtual Care?
Virtual Care connects patients and their families to health care services using technology.
You can see and talk to your health-care provider via video from your local health center, your computer at home, or on-the-go with your smartphone.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority partners with other health agencies to offer virtual care services. This includes eHealth Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, Saskatchewan Medical Association, First Nation Health Services and Athabasca Health Authority.

Benefits of Using Virtual Care
Some benefits include:
- More access to health care for rural and/or limited mobility patients
- Saves travel time
- Saves money spent on travel, accommodations and meals
- Limits exposure of vulnerable populations to health care centers
Some limitations of Virtual Care include:
- Some physical exams can't be done
- Technical problems can happen
- Video and/or audio quality depends on the internet/cellular data strength
- Not everyone has access to technology (computer/laptop, smartphone or tablet)
