What is remote patient monitoring?
Remote patient monitoring (RPM) is a type of virtual care that uses technology to collect health information from patients and sends the data to the monitoring health-care team. They can then look at the data and give advice on what to do next.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is using TELUS Home Health Monitoring (HHM) technology for remote patient monitoring.
IMPORTANT: Home Health Monitoring is not an emergency response system.
For medical advice, call 811. In the case of a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Is remote patient monitoring safe and private?
You have the right to decline Home Health Monitoring any time. Your decision to participate will not affect the care you receive from any of our SHA care team members.
Notification for the use of Digital Communication
Digital Communications can be a helpful way to talk with your health-care team between visits, and we want to advise that there are risks when using these technologies to send personal health information. The SHA will do what we can to confirm that any personal information we send is being received in the application by you only but it’s never possible to have 100% certainty who we are communicating with unless it's in-person.
While the SHA has protections in place, we are not responsible for and cannot control what happens to information once it is stored: 1) on your device; 2) by telecommunications providers; 3) by software or application providers; or 4) by other applications that may have access to your personal device.
You are responsible for the security of your own computer, laptop, tablet, phone and email.
If you have any questions about the collection, disclosure, or use of your personal information please contact the SHA Privacy Office at privacy@saskhealthauthority.ca
How does Home Health Monitoring work?
Talk to your health-care team about the possibility of Home Health Monitoring. At this time, only some health-care teams are offering the HHM service.
If you meet the eligibility requirements, your care team will help you set up an account in "myMoblie", the patient access point for HHM.
From there you will answer pre-scheduled interview questions about your health and enter biometrics like your pulse, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, weight, etc. This health data is what your health-care team will look at, monitoring for changes that may need some attention.
