French is important in Saskatchewan
The importance of French in our everyday life cannot be underestimated. The Saskatchewan Health Authority recognizes French as one of Canada's two official languages and strives to deliver equitable services to its francophone clients.
French language has always occupied an important position among other languages in the world and its place in Saskatchewan is no exception. It is the fifth most-spoken language in the world and the third language for business. Currently, there are close to 18,000 people in Saskatchewan who speak French as their first language and about 52,000 people also confirmed to have some knowledge of French.
Every year, the Saskatchewan Health Authority joins other organizations to remind ourselves of the importance of French language and culture in uniting people all over the world for peaceful coexistence.
