New Department Head, Pediatrics, Dr. Brophy
We are excited to welcome Dr. Patrick Brophy who has been appointed as the new Saskatchewan pediatric head. Dr. Brophy, a pediatric nephrologist, brings extensive clinical, research and leadership experience. A nephrologist is a physician who specializes in kidney care and treating disease of the kidneys.
Dr. Brophy attended high school and university in Regina, completed his training including a Masters degree, in the United States and has returned home after a half-decade of successful leadership in a New York children’s hospital. Dr. Brophy has served on numerous medical bodies, notably past chair of the Pediatric Academic Societies, a group of academic professional organizations and has over 150 peer-reviewed publications.
From a clinical research side, Dr. Brophy has a strong track record which has resulted in significant improvements in care management of patients requiring acute dialysis and those with acute kidney injury.
