Regina’s Drive-Thru Clinic Opens Monday at 8:30 a.m. for AGE 64 ONLY
Monday March 15, 2021, Regina will open a drive-thru immunization clinic to vaccinate ONLY those aged 64 years of age (with a birthdate between March 16, 1956 and March 15, 1957) with the AstroZeneca vaccine. There will be security checkpoints on site to validate ages via proper identification.
The drive-thru site will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You cannot pre-book an appointment for the drive-thru clinics.
The clinic will be located at the Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. (REAL) grounds. Enter the grounds from the Lewvan Drive and 11th Avenue entrance and follow the green lines to get your vaccine.
The site will open up to additional ages (in reverse order from oldest to youngest) in the days that follow.
Health officials are currently working on expanding availability to the AstraZeneca vaccine to a wider age range in the Regina area. Additional details will be announced in the coming days.
Here are a few things to keep in mind before you attend this drive-thru clinic.
- Drive-thru immunization is available to anyone who meets current vaccine eligibility.
- You will be turned away from the clinic if you are not yet eligible.
- Drive-thru vaccines appointments cannot be pre-booked. They are first-come, first-served only
- A valid health card and/or identification will be requested for each person getting the vaccine.
- The drive-thru immunization sites will be first come, first served to those that meet current vaccine eligibility. It is likely you will encounter some wait times.
- Bring your health card and cell phone (if you have one).
- Wear a short-sleeved shirt.
- Bring a mask with you. You will be required to wear a mask at all times.
- You will be asked to clean your hands upon entrance.
- It is important to maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet) from others - except those you live with.
- Expect to stay 15 minutes after your vaccine.
