SHA employees presented with Community Safety Award
On June 7, Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) employees Nimone Campbell, Travis Philipation, and Heather Segall were presented with the Community Safety Award by the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS). This was the first opportunity for the MJPS to gather to recognize awardees in person due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Nimone and Travis are Public Health Inspectors who were recognized for their essential role in informing and collaborating with MJPS on unprecedented issues resulting from the pandemic.
“Without the cooperation of Nimone and Travis, the police role would have been much more difficult in keeping the citizens safe during this unusual time,” Staff Sergeant Cam Lewis stated. “It must be noted that these two individuals while maintaining professional integrity were extremely patient and pleasant to deal with - even though MJPS was just one of many organizations that placed significant demands on them on a daily basis. They were a key part in contributing to the success of managing the challenges our police service had through the pandemic.”
Heather Segall, now-retired Public Health Manager, was one of the many responsible for administering vaccines to the citizens of Moose Jaw and surrounding area, including high priority front line employees and first responders within the MJPS.
“This ensured that the organizations, like the Moose Jaw Police Service, that were responsible for ensuring other people’s safety remained healthy and had additional protection as they went about their jobs keeping the citizens of Moose Jaw safe at a time when they were needed most,” said Staff Sergeant Lewis.
Congratulations to Heather, Travis and Nimone for the impeccable work!
