SHA evacuating La Loche long-term care
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is working closely with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency and community partners to immediately and safely evacuate nine long-term care residents and patients from La Loche Health Centre and Hospital as a pre-emptive action due to risks from wildfires and to road access.
Patient and/or resident transfer plans have been developed by the SHA, identifying where individuals will be transferred based on individual care needs and the capacity of the receiving health care facilities in Biggar and Kindersley.
At this time, La Loche Health Centre and Hospital remains open for anyone who requires emergency care.
The SHA is committed to continued support of those affected by the wildfire situation, and those mobilizing to respond to this difficult situation.
