Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre offers residents special Christmas portrait
Staff at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre knew they needed to do something special to raise spirits during the Christmas season this year and they came up with some fresh ideas, including a resident Christmas portrait session in early December.
“We needed something special during these times, to lessen the feeling of isolation and loneliness for the residents and their families,” said Pamela Bahnuick, Recreation Worker with Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre. “Half our residents took part in the photo session. Residents and family have been very appreciative and we had a lot of fun. There were a lot of smiles and even a few happy tears.”
It all took place over a couple of sittings with residents to ensure all public health advice was followed. Photos were provided to residents and many sent copies to their families or shared them on their personal Facebook accounts. Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre cares for 41 long term care residents in Shaunavon.
