Don’t give the gift of flu this holiday season
Holiday gatherings are important to all of us at this time of year. We improve our mental, emotional and spiritual health as we connect in person with family, friends, and colleagues.
But this holiday season in particular, we share the risk of getting or giving influenza. The risk of getting sick is higher if you haven’t had your flu shot. COVID-19 is still circulating. Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is impacting people too, particularly youth and children.
As you make your holiday plans, make sure your immunizations are up to date. Walk-in clinics and booked appointments for influenza and COVID-19 vaccines remain available at various locations across Saskatchewan right up to December 23 and on select dates in some locations between December 27 to 30. Check with the vaccine clinics page.
Getting the flu shot doesn’t mean you won’t get the flu, but if you’ve been immunized against it, the flu will have less impact on you with fewer complications and a faster recovery.
So protect yourself and everyone else by getting your immunizations now. Don’t give the unwelcome gift of influenza or COVID-19 this year and protect yourself from bringing illness home with you!
