Pop-up clinic at Waskesiu attracts over 70
Though mass COVID-19 immunization clinics have closed in Saskatchewan, pop-up clinics are being set up in a variety of places to ensure easy access to the vaccine for many.
One of those clinics was set up in Waskesiu recently. Seventy-two people received their first or second dose at the clinic, held on July 30.
“I’m pleased with the turnout we had,” said Renee Bankole, Manager Primary Health Care. “It was a fun venue, right off the beach. We made it easy for about a dozen people to get their first dose, and the rest to get their second.”
A previous clinic at Shellbrook delivered 24 doses, and another in Blaine Lake afterwards gave 30 or so.
A pop-up clinic is currently being planned for Emma Lake. Watch for pop-up and walk-in opportunities in your neck of the woods on the Saskatchewan Health Authority website.
