‘Project Love’ at Jubilee Lodge
On Saturday, June 12, 2021, the Jubilee Lodge in Kinistino received a special visit and generous donation of 30 care baskets for each resident. ‘Project Love’ is based out of Regina and was created by Jim and Josie Illingsworth and their daughter Joy Schadel to deliver care baskets to seniors in care homes across Saskatchewan. This family effort also includes their children and grandchildren to help create the baskets by using donations from Regina businesses.
Joy spoke on behalf of the family, “The rest of us on the outside world were heartbroken when you could not see or touch your loved ones, so we decided to let the seniors in the care homes know what they outside world was thinking of them, sending prayers and hoping that everyone would stay safe and healthy throughout this pandemic.”
Joys’ father, Jim, has old ties to Kinistino so he wanted to ensure Jubilee Lodge was on their list of care baskets to be donated.
The residents and staff of Jubilee Lodge were beyond grateful and happy to connect with the outside world again. Their smiles and enthusiasm said it all!
