Saskatoon Drive-Thru COVID Test site reducing hours
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is changing its hours of operation at the COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing site (3630 Thatcher Ave) to better meet public demand for testing in Saskatoon.
Starting Monday, July 19, if you are seeking a COVID-19 test at the drive-thru, the site’s new hours will be noon to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays, and remain 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. This will allow the SHA to better meet the current demand for testing and redeploy employees to meet other needs within the system, including vaccinations and mobile testing capacity.
Testing remains a very important tool in the COVID-19 response and the new drive-thru site hours will meet the expected demand for testing. As variants of concern are prevalent in the community and province, the SHA will continue to monitor testing demand in Saskatoon and readjust hours of operation if demand increases.
The drive-through testing sites are first come, first served, similar to a walk-in clinic, which means wait times may be expected and can vary in length. Drive-thru wait times are available on the SHA website.
We are working diligently to serve as many people as possible, and ask for everyone’s patience if there is a wait.
To be tested at the drive-thru site please remember to:
- Bring a valid Saskatchewan Health Card for everyone in the car being tested. If you do not have a Saskatchewan Health Card, please instead bring another form of identification like a Health Card from another province, drivers’ license, or passport.
- Wear a mask during the patient registration process. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.
For those individuals who do not have access to a vehicle, please call 811 to arrange an appointment or ask your health practitioner for a referral.
