SHA facilities light up orange for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
As part of the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s (SHA) commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and our CARES values (compassion, accountability, respect, equity, and safety), several SHA facilities turned their lights orange this month in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30. This small but meaningful action reflects the SHA’s commitment to reconciliation is year-round.
Across Canada, the colour holds deep significance for Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Learn more about the importance of Orange Shirt Day and its history.
Illuminating SHA buildings in orange is a reminder that our SHA CARES value of equity is not only demonstrated through face-to-face interactions, but interwoven into institutions and systems, structures and services.
Thank you to the Building Services staff who have been instrumental in lighting up the following buildings in orange:
- Pasqua Hospital, Regina,
- Regina General Hospital, Regina,
- Ellis Hall, Saskatoon,
- Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, and
- Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, Saskatoon.
