Turtleford works to promote culturally safe COVID-19 vaccination experiences

We are in this together. That’s the idea behind a strong connection between the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and the Métis Nations-Saskatchewan (MN-S) at a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Turtleford. 

In order to showcase the collective work of both organizations in the effort to vaccinate Saskatchewan residents and #stickittoCOVID, the Metis Nation flag and two sashes proudly fly inside the clinic.  

Adel Panahi, with MN-S, provided the items with an eye to, “making the partnership a way to break down boundaries and reducing vaccine hesitancy throughout the area”. 

“We were eager to work with Métis Nations-Saskatchewan to find a culturally supportive way to make the clinic feel more inclusive. It’s going to take the collective efforts of everyone to help us reach herd immunity in the fight against COVID,” said Lisa McGillvray, the SHA Director of Primary Health Care for the community.
