- Optimal Volume: 4.5 mL Full collection tube
- Minimum Volume: 1.5 mL
(Submitting the minimum volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory/reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum volume may require a second collection.)

- SHBG measured by ECLIA
- The concentrations of free and bioavailable testosterone are derived from mathematical formulae from the Vermeulen et al publication. The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism 1999 Vol. 84, pages 3666 – 3672

Other information
- Bioavailable testosterone includes free and weakly bound (non-SHBG bound) testosterone, and it is the biologically active testosterone.
- Interpret free and bioavailable testosterone results with caution in presence of significant hypoalbuminemia.
