Writing Style Standards
The way information is presented is important. Attention to detail can go a long way towards creating clear, credible and professional writing.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Writing Style Standards have been developed to provide consistent application across all Saskatchewan Health Authority correspondence. Please refer to the standards when producing and distributing documents on behalf of the SHA.
The document is updated periodically to reflect evolving grammar rules and changing SHA preferences. The last update was in August 2023.
Several documents and resources were referred to during the development of the standards, including prior regional health authority guidelines and the Canadian Press reference books. The document is not intended to be a complete, all-encompassing list. Generally, and for items not included in this guideline, the Canadian Press Stylebook and the Canadian Press Caps and Spelling should serve as the default information sources.
