Elsevier - Emergency Nursing Orientation
CS-CS-0002 Orientation - Emergency Department - for Nurses Clinical Standard was launched on July 5, 2021 with the purpose of standardizing beginner competency of new Emergency Department (ED) nursing staff and establishing care expectations across the SHA in the Emergency Departments. This clinical standard incorporates the Elsevier learning platform as one of the tools to achieve that purpose. Emergency Department managers, educators and other leaders of these areas can now use the Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) program t help undertake these orientations. Support for accessing and navigating this platform is offered in partnership between Clinical Standards and the SHA Library.
Each ED will be required to designate a staff leader (Manager, Educator, Coordinator, etc.) to become an administrator for that area. One Elsevier administrator may be responsible for several EDs (in a geographical area), and conversely, some EDs may require more than one administrator. Clinical Standards can be consulted to assist with determining administrators.
