Webex Virtual Backgrounds
These images are provided for use with Webex Meeting software as virtual backgrounds for Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) staff and physicians. Their use is optional and meant to enhance the user experience and provide opportunities to promote the SHA, its initiatives, and geographic diversity.
Backgrounds have been designed for use on desktop computers and have been optimized for screen use.
It is important to note that Webex virtual backgrounds require additional system resources and not all computers have the capacity to use them. The following is a list of possible issues with using virtual backgrounds:
- General slowdown of computer system while running Webex/using backgrounds
- Degraded Webex experience with video freezing, audio stuttering and general poor performance
- Slowdown or issues with other software running on your system while running Webex
- For computers unable to run video, these graphics will not work
- For those using V.D.I. (Virtual Desktop Interface), there is no capacity for use of Webex backgrounds
- Reduced bandwidth (internet speed) and/or network connection issues
Webex virtual backgrounds must be only used by those with systems that can safely support them. Do not use virtual backgrounds if you are aware your Webex cannot support video and/or if you experience issues when using them.

Before downloading backgrounds below, please note the following:
- Backgrounds provided for use with Webex Meeting and use for any other purpose is prohibited
- Webex Meeting settings limit the number of virtual backgrounds to three (3) – the most that can be uploaded to the software at any one time.
- If you need to enable the use of virtual backgrounds in Webex Meeting, be sure to select “Apply” after selecting the image as failing to do so will not activate the option
- When a virtual background is selected and applied, it remains in place until a different background or “no background” is applied
- Virtual backgrounds and your video can be set to “mirror” – which can be an issue with the SHA logo or other text appearing legible on screen
- Test virtual backgrounds ahead of time to identify any issues before your meeting begins
