Hip and Knee Pathway - Provider Information
The Saskatchewan Hip and Knee Pathway improves the quality of care and shortens wait times for patients considering hip or knee replacement surgery. Multi-disciplinary hip and knee clinics ensure that patients are properly assessed, and use a shared decision making process to help the patient choose the treatment option that is best for them. Patients who choose surgery are given the opportunity to prepare for surgery, and understand what to expect after surgery – reducing stress and speeding up recovery. The clinics also help identify patients who may not need surgery.
Referrals
Family doctors and nurse practitioners can refer patients directly to the Multidisciplinary Clinics in Moose Jaw or Prince Albert by using the physician referral form. In Regina, surgical referral is required.
