Allied Health-care Learners
Students training in allied health professions seek clinical experiences within the SHA. This would include colleagues in Pharmacy, Therapies, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Imagining and others.
For some experiences, the SHA is the only clinical location to train these students which gives us a unique opportunity to interact with many future colleagues.
The College of Medicine is requesting SHA support for assessment of undergraduate medical students by allied health professional (AHP). An AHP, such as a nurse, physiotherapist, pharmacist, etc., will be asked by the medical student to fill in EPA 13 (entrustrable professional activity 13) when a student is working with the AHP in the interdisciplinary care of a patient. This EPA assesses a student's interprofessional team collaborative skills.
Medical students may ask for an EPA 13 during their rotation in these SHA clinical environments. Completion of EAP 13 will be done via an app which the student will provide to you on their mobile device. This will take approximately 2-3 minutes to complete. We thank you for your input in providing feedback to our future physicians.
