Bylaws and Rules
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Interim Practitioner Staff Bylaws define the relationship between the SHA and SHA practitioners (i.e., physicians, dentists, chiropractors, midwives, registered nurse practitioners and registered nurses with additional authorized practice) who have been granted privileges to work within the SHA.
The bylaws are developed and enacted to:
- Provide an administrative structure for the governance of practitioner staff affairs within the SHA
- Promote the provision of quality health-care services
- Govern the procedures for the appointment, reappointment, suspension and termination of practitioners to the practitioner staff
- Govern the procedures for the discipline of members of the practitioner staff
- Provide a means of granting privileges to members of the practitioner staff, including the amendment, suspension or revocation thereof
- Provide a means of effective and efficient communication between the practitioner staff, the SHA and management within the SHA
- Provide for practitioner staff input into policy, planning and budget decisions of the SHA.
