Translation Services Questions and Answers
How do I get an access code?
- Access codes are being provided via Directors or Department Heads for facilities/units/departments or areas.
- If you had access to translation services previously, you will have access to a code which can be obtained by contacting your Director or Department Head.
- If you do not have a code and require one, have your Director/Program or Department Head submit a request.
- Once the request is received, you will be contacted within three business days.
Can I share my access code?
- Access codes are not to be broadly publicized or shared; they are for the exclusive use of your team; usage will be audited to ensure it is appropriate.
- The SHA’s service is primarily for the use of SHA team members; however in some instances this definition has been adjusted to account for exceptions.
- If you would like to extend use of your access code to a third-party outside of the SHA, please contact us first to discuss your request.
Where can I get the list of available languages?
- A listing of available languages is available at all times on the SHA staff website.
How do I access translation services after regular business hours?
- Translation services are available from our provider 24/7/365, using your code provided by your Director or Department Head.
- If you require urgent or emergency access to translation services and do not have a code available, escalate your request through the leader on-call system to contact Communications. (note that only urgent or emergent requests are to contact on-call, regular business requests will be deferred to next business day).
As a hard of hearing client, how do I access your service?
- Video Remote Interpretation services are available in American Sign Language (ASL). Submit your request for pre-scheduled video interpretation directly from the staff website.
Can I access service in all Saskatchewan indigenous languages?
- Translation services are available in indigenous languages. Available languages are listed on SHA staff website.
Do I need a username and password to request for translation service through the SHA’s website?
- No, you do not need a username or password to access the SHA’s website.
- Any computer, tablet or cell phone with internet connection can access the website.
