Pelvic Floor Pathway - Provider Information
The Pelvic Floor Pathway is for women coping with urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse. Pelvic floor conditions are not life-threatening, but can impact quality of life. Affected women have options for treatment.
The pathway is intended to offer patient education and improve access to conservative treatment options such as therapies, medications, and pessaries.
Primary care providers are to navigate patients directly to a specialist if red flags including hematuria, intractable UTIs, elevated post-void residual volume, pelvic mass, possible fistula, possible neurologic lesion, pelvic pain, or significant cognitive impairment are present.
Referral form
Physicians, nurse practitioners, and midwives can refer patients directly to the Pelvic Floor Pathway Clinic in Regina and Saskatoon by using the referral form. It is also available on Med Access and Accuro EMRs.
