Real Time Demand and Capacity/Discharge System
Our 2022/23 connected care strategic plan included the establishment of provincial standards for acute inpatient care Real-Time Demand and Capacity (RTDC) and Discharge System (D System) workflows in our tertiary hospitals by March 2023 and March 2024 in all our regional hospitals.
While the strategic focus is for tertiary and regional hospitals to adopt these standards into their everyday practice in the upcoming months, all hospitals are encouraged to adopt these standards into daily practice.
A working group of provincial representatives from operations and digital health has developed a standard workflow and information flow framework and requirements. The team also developed a toolkit package of clinical standard documents, supporting workflow guidelines, SCM Status board standards, training videos, etc.
