SHA Mentorship Program
Program Description
The SHA Mentorship Program is a voluntary, six-month program available to all SHA employees on an ongoing basis. The program aims to foster meaningful connections, encourage knowledge sharing, and support greater collaboration across the organization.
It is ideal for anyone looking to:
- develop leadership skills;
- connect with colleagues throughout the organization;
- enhance communication skills; and
- receive additional guidance and support to excel in their career.
The program includes courses offered in multiple formats: self-led modules, facilitated online sessions, and in-person workshops. It is designed to offer flexibility, allowing each matched pair to connect on a schedule that works best for them, within the context of their roles and professional responsibilities.
Participant Information
It is open to all SHA employees — regardless of role, specialty, or location (urban, rural, or northern).
Process and Stages
Getting matched with a mentor or mentee can occur in one of two ways:
- Participant(s) apply to the program with an existing match in mind; or
- The Mentorship Program Team works to find a match for participant(s).
Participants may be matched based on union, unit/facility, geographic area, experience, job responsibilities, interests and/or goals.
How to Apply to the SHA Mentorship Program
Participants can apply to the program through the Mentorship Program Tile in MyConnection after speaking with their direct supervisor.
