Using Blood Wisely
Using Blood Wisely is a nation-wide initiative by Choosing Wisely Canada and Canadian Blood Services launched in September 2020. The focus of this campaign is to decrease inappropriateness of red blood cell transfusion practices in Canada.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is proud of its health-care provider and laboratory staff commitment to promoting and maintaining excellence in blood use stewardship. Congratulations to our Using Blood Wisely Hospitals, who have achieved this designation by meeting and maintaining transfusion appropriateness benchmarks!
As of January 2024, we celebrate the following Using Blood Wisely Hospitals:
