Routine Imaging Disruption
Effective Wednesday March 25, 2020, at 0700hrs, Saskatchewan Health Authority Medical Imaging is postponing all routine work for Medical Imaging in an effort to reduce the number of patients in our facilities.
- Medical Imaging services will be available for Urgent/Emergent Imaging, Emergency Services, Critical Care Services and Cancer Care Service operations. All other requests for Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine services for urgent or emergent patients will be determined by a radiologist in consultation with the referring physician.
- Limited Medical Imaging and Nuclear Medicine services are available within Community, District, Regional, and Tertiary hospitals. All available sites are listed in the table below.
- All physicians and care providers will ensure diligence of the process being outlined below to ensure a focus is provided to the most critical of patients under your caring.
- All tests will continue to use existing requisitions and when appropriate mark clearly with URGENT or EMERGENT.
- Information related to COVID19 testing is available at www.saskatchewan.ca/COVID19.
- Please ensure diligence of referring to this information before any calls are made to Radiology staff to ensure stewardship of our resources.
