QI Specialist Core Functions
Quality Improvement (QI) Specialists are trained to assist leaders in their problem-solving abilities. They can help leaders identify what QI and the SHA Management System elements and tools may be used to recognize, understand, and advance continuous improvement opportunities.
The role of the QI Specialist is to help support "set-up" and provide coaching in improvement tools and methods. The process owner is responsible to implement and monitor the ongoing progress of the process being improved.

Frequency of review
Intake requests will be reviewed weekly by QI Teams.
Criteria for acceptance
- Assignment with QI core functions and role
- Prioritization of the work and our resources
Follow-up
A QI Team member will contact you within 1-2 weeks to inform you of the status of the Support Request or sooner based on the project timelines and urgency of the request.

- Is your department the process owner of the process you want to improve?
- Who is impacted by this work and/or needed as content experts for this work - Are they engaged and have the willingness, readiness, and capacity to be involved?
- Is your leader aware and supportive of the resources to do this improvement work?
- If an area has multiple QI support needs, consider how you would prioritize and sequence the work.
