Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID)
What is medical assistance in dying?
Medical assistance in dying occurs when an authorized doctor or nurse practitioner administers medication that intentionally brings about a patient's death, at that patient's request. This procedure is only available to eligible individuals.
Referral to Provincial Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) Program
Patients can self-refer by calling or emailing the MAID Program:

Medical assistance in dying cannot be included in a patient's health-care directive.
