Environmental Services Standardization
Product standardization
Environmental Services is continually working on standardizing the products we use to contribute to a safe environment for patients, families, and residents. The following products are used across the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA):
- Clorox® is used as a sporicidal cleaner/disinfectant.
- Oxivir® Plus is our general cleaner/disinfectant.
- Microfibre cloths, as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Science Direct.
For more information on chemical disinfectants, please refer to the CDC's Guideline for Disinfection and Sterilization in Healthcare Facilities as well as their Best Practices for Environmental Cleaning in Healthcare Facilities.
