Comfort for patients a priority for palliative team
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) palliative care team in Swift Current was recently able to enhance comfort for patients and families by adding two power lift chairs to palliative care rooms in Clover House at The Meadows long-term care home.
The chairs were funded by the Meadows Auxiliary Fund and Voth’s BrandSource. “The addition of these chairs will provide a more comfortable environment for patients and their families while staying in palliative care,” said Renae, SHA Manager of Clinical Integration, Integrated Rural Health, Program Development.
The compassion palliative care staff have for our patients and their families is a true testament to the SHA’s CARES values (compassion, accountability, respect, equity and safety) “We are so grateful to the families and friends who have made donations to The Meadows Auxiliary Fund for this project,” said Justine, Palliative Care Assessor/Coordinator. “Purchasing decisions for the chairs were based on collaboration and input from donors, making this a very intentional project to best support patients and their families.”
A special thank-you to The Meadows Auxiliary Fund and to local Swift Current business, Voth's BrandSource, for their additional donation which made the purchase possible.
