Teamwork ensures exemplary patient care
Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, assistants, residents and students all play a critical role in supporting patient safety. The pharmacy team at the Humboldt District Health Complex knows the importance of teamwork when it comes to patient care.
“Working in a rural community like Humboldt, teamwork is essential to the care we provide,” said Tara Watts, Senior Pharmacist for Humboldt District Health Complex.
In addition to managing in-patient and out-patient support in Humboldt, the pharmacy team provides a variety of services supporting 10 communities, including Cudworth, Lanigan, Nokomis, Rosthern, Strasbourg, Wadena, Watrous, Watson, Wynyard and Wakaw.
“Our team is constantly in communication with other pharmacies to ensure patients receive the care that they need. Our team exemplifies the SHA’s CARES values (compassion, accountability, respect, equity and safety) in everything they do,” said Tara. “From taking extra time with patients to ensure they understand their medication, to a technician driving to Saskatoon to pick up a medication we didn’t have in Humboldt, ensuring a patient could continue their treatment without delay, our team truly goes above and beyond for patient care.”
