New insurance benefit available thanks to AIMS
Thanks to upgrades to the Administrative Information Management System (AIMS), members of Group Life Insurance Plan have a new option to purchase up to $150,000 optional life insurance for their spouse.
“In our legacy system, there were no more available fields open to deduct premiums,” said Lorne Shiplack, Director of Benefit Services at 3sHealth. “We needed to wait for AIMS to go live. Now that it’s here and going well, we were able to make this happen for members.”
Before rolling things out, the benefits team spent time testing to ensure everything was working.
Members have till June 30, 2025, to purchase additional insurance without needing evidence of insurability. After June, members can purchase insurance within the first 90 days of joining the Plan. After 90 days, evidence of insurability and approval by the insurer are required.

Milestone Achieved: Release one is Live
On May 21, 2025, MyScheduling went live for 3,500 out-of-scope employees at the SHA, affiliates, 3sHealth, the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations, and the Saskatchewan Healthcare Recruitment Agency.
This group of employees submitted their first timesheets, which include the May long-weekend stat holiday. Employees who worked the stat also learned how to enter premiums for working the holiday.
Time validation and scheduling is the final remaining system to be implemented and is being introduced gradually. Later releases include further scheduling needs for shift workers and co-employed employees.
Each release has a built-in period where the project team closely monitors the system to ensure everything is working before shifting to support the next group of employees for their release. As part of this, the project team has been suporting staff with steps required to enter a stat holiday, and addressing requests for support with security roles, organization structure, and access.
The department champions have also been great resources for answering questions, escalating concerns to the project team, and advising employees to create a case for assistance with more complex issues. The list of department champions can be found on the AIMS information page where you can also find links on how to validate time cards and other helpful resources through the MyKnowledge database.
Release one progress updates will continue to be provided until the system has fully shifted back to business operations.
